Thanks and More Resources

Thanks for being such good participants at yesterday's workshop. Here are a few more resources I want to share with you.

Camtasia Studio 7: The Essentials by Kevin A. Siegel, IconLogic Books, 2010. $37.00  Amazon has one copy as of 2-19-11 but the book can be ordered from the IconLogic website, too. This is the book I mentioned yesterday.

Fences is the program I use for organizing my desktop. I use the free version. Double click to completely clear off your desktop then double click to make everything reappear.

If you plan to do much recording, I recommend you purchase a USB headset with a microphone. I've had my Plantronics headset for four years and paid about $60 for it. I found a comparable set at Amazon for about $30.

A few of you mentioned wanting to record PowerPoint lectures. TechSmith has a great tutorial on this topic that you can review. I've also created a handout on recording PowerPoint in a smaller window to reduce the file size.

Thanks to Adam who found out how to unlink the video and audio which is what I wanted to do as the final editing step in our workshop yesterday. Go to Edit -> Unlink Audio 1 from Video 1. Here is a screen snapshot:
This allows you to work on one track without affecting the other. I would have selected and cut the video track so that the title clip with the assignment instructions were in sync with the audio.
